President of Menoufia University Congratulates the Governor and People of the Governorate on the Inclusion of Shebin El-Kom in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities 2025

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, extended his congratulations to Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Menoufia, and to the people of the governorate on the announcement by the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO regarding the inclusion of three new Egyptian cities in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities for 2025: Cairo, Mansoura, and Shebin El-Kom. This national achievement reflects Egypt’s progress in the fields of education and sustainable development.

The University President expressed his pride and satisfaction with the inclusion of Shebin El-Kom—the capital of Menoufia Governorate and home of Menoufia University—into this prestigious international network. He emphasized that this selection reflects the significant efforts undertaken within the city to support lifelong learning, empower youth, and advance the educational system, in addition to the effective cooperation between the Governorate and the University in implementing educational and community initiatives.

Prof. El-Kased noted that this accomplishment aligns with Egypt’s national vision and the directives of the political leadership to improve the quality of education and enhance the role of Egyptian cities in supporting comprehensive development and human capacity building. He affirmed that Menoufia University will continue its role as a key partner in strengthening Shebin El-Kom’s position as a Learning City through its academic, community, and research-based projects.

He concluded his statement by stressing that this achievement marks a significant step toward enhancing Menoufia Governorate’s standing on the international map and opens new horizons for cooperation with UNESCO and its partners in development and sustainable learning initiatives.
