President of Menoufia University Holds Online Deans’ Council Meeting

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, held the monthly meeting of the University Deans’ Council online, with the participation of council members, to review the activities and events of the University’s faculties and institutes, in addition to preparing and studying matters that require discussion before submission to the University Council in its upcoming monthly session.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. El-Kased extended congratulations to H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian people, the University community, and the Islamic Ummah on the occasion of the upcoming celebration of the Prophet’s Birthday, wishing Egypt continued progress and prosperity under the wise leadership of President El-Sisi.

The University President reviewed a number of activities that had taken place across the University sectors during the month of August. He expressed his delight at the achievements of the University in various fields and its distinguished standing among Egyptian and international universities, stressing the importance of the optimal use of University resources and the prompt completion of ongoing projects.

Prof. El-Kased also extended congratulations to the deans recently appointed by presidential decrees, as well as faculty members appointed or reappointed by University decrees to serve as deans, vice deans, or heads of academic departments. He further expressed gratitude to the deans whose terms had ended, acknowledging their contributions to their colleges, and wished them continued success.

The University President congratulated the Faculty of Commerce on receiving ISO 21001:2018 (Educational Organizations Management Systems) and ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems), after fulfilling all required standards.

He also congratulated the University teams participating in the 25th edition of the Egyptian Collegiate Programming Contest (ECPC), organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Innovation Support Fund of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Out of the 26 teams representing Menoufia University, 7 qualified for the finals, earning two medals: one gold and one bronze.

Prof. El-Kased extended thanks and congratulations to the medical team at the National Liver Institute for successfully performing a liver transplant on a 7-year-old child suffering from acute liver failure, referred by Suez Comprehensive Health Insurance Hospital, within the framework of a cooperation protocol between the Institute and the Comprehensive Health Insurance Authority. He also commended the cardiothoracic surgery team at Menoufia University Hospitals for their success in performing a complex minimally invasive aortic valve replacement (Mini-Thoracotomy) on a 50-year-old patient.

Additionally, he praised the diagnostic and interventional radiology team at University Hospitals for saving the life of a patient admitted to the Emergency Hospital with severe rectal bleeding, which was immediately managed and controlled by the radiology team. He applauded the ongoing advances at University Hospitals, the National Liver Institute, and the National Cancer Institute, particularly the use of the latest techniques in diagnosis and treatment, to provide integrated and high-quality healthcare to patients.

The University President emphasized that the University has developed a comprehensive plan that includes upgrading academic infrastructure, updating study programs, accrediting faculties, and expanding programmatic accreditation, in line with labor market needs and to enhance graduate competitiveness locally and internationally. He declared the current academic year as the “Year of Quality,” noting that he had chaired the regular meeting of the University’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Committee to review progress in the accreditation files of faculties applying for institutional accreditation.

Prof. El-Kased added that, during the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Information Technology and Institutional Digital Transformation, he followed up on the implementation of the comprehensive University digitalization plan, praising the achievements in this field. During the Internationalization Committee meeting, he also discussed ways to update the admission system and services provided to international students.

He further referred to his field visit to Al-Raheb Farm, where he inspected the Animal Production Research Unit, research centers, the Aquaculture Research Unit of the Faculty of Agriculture, the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research Unit of the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the University’s botanical farm.
