On Earth Day: The World Puts Laws to Protect the Planet Since the 1970s

In view of the tremendous development in the world of industry, agriculture, space and terrestrial technology and the emission of gases on the planet, the world hold threatened the first environmental conference in 1972 in Stockholm, Sweden, which focused on providing technical and financial assistance to the eight countries to tackle the problems of environmental pollution

Dr. Abulkhair Atteya, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Menoufia University , says In 1992, the Second International Conference on Environmental Protection was held in Brazil, which focused on the issue of sustainable development through economic and social development and defined rights and duties in terms of preserving the environment.

The industrialized countries also held a protocol in Japan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that depletion of the ozone layer, which leads to constant rise in temperature and climate change

In the light of this Protocol, Member States need to reduce pollutants from industries by reducing pollutants from modern industries such as Freon gas .

As for the Egyptian law, and in view of the world's tendency to protect the planet from pollution by law, Egypt has enacted many laws to protect the environment, including the Environment Act of 1994 and Law No. 42 of 2014, amended by some provisions of Law No. 99 of 2015. It aims to protect agricultural land and protect the air from greenhouse gases and climate change as well as protect the aquatic environment, especially the Nile River from pollution.
