Menoufia University Council in Today’s Session: Congratulates the Political Leadership on the Occasion of the Approaching Eid Al-Adha

The Council of Menoufia University held its meeting under the chairmanship of Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of the University, in the presence and membership of the Vice Presidents of the University: Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Acting Supervisor of the Education and Students Sector; Prof. Ghada Ali, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Mrs. Soaad Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the University; and the deans of the faculties.

At the beginning of the session, the Council extended its congratulations to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to the Egyptian people, and to all members and affiliates of Menoufia University on the occasion of the approaching Eid Al-Adha, praying to Allah to bring it back to Egypt and the Islamic nation with الخير واليمن والبركات.

The Council also congratulated His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa on the renewal of the Arab Republic of Egypt’s presidency of the General Conference of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) for a new term by unanimous agreement of the member states during the proceedings of the 15th session of the General Conference held in Kazan.

The Council expressed its sincere appreciation to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the decision nominating Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased as a member of the ministerial committee tasked with developing an integrated vision for the advancement of medical education and healthcare training at all stages, under the chairmanship of Prof. Ashraf Hatem. The Council affirmed that this selection reflects confidence in the university’s expertise and distinguished academic and administrative cadres.

The University President also congratulated those selected for leadership positions at the university following the conclusion of the nomination committee’s work and the announcement of the results:

  • Mrs. Soaad El-Sayed Bayoumi – Secretary-General of the University.

  • Mr. Ashraf Mohamed El-Wazir – Assistant Secretary-General of the University.

  • Mr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz El-Shazly – General Director of the General Administration of Institutional Development.

  • Mrs. Abeer Mahmoud Negm – General Director of the General Administration of Community Service Affairs.

  • Mrs. Hanaa Abdel Dayem Hussein – Secretary of the Faculty of Medicine.

  • Mr. Ali Omar El-Nowa – Secretary of the Faculty of Specific Education.

The Council expressed its sincere wishes for their success in carrying out their duties during the coming period, contributing to supporting the university’s path toward administrative and institutional development.

The University President expressed his pleasure at the university’s achievement of a new scientific milestone in the Nature Index 2026, one of the world’s leading indicators for measuring the quality and impact of research published in top international scientific journals. The university ranked 5380 globally among research institutions and 12th among Egyptian universities included in the ranking. It also advanced in the academic ranking of universities to 2852 globally, reflecting the continuous improvement of the university’s institutional performance in scientific research and international publication.

The University President reviewed the achievements and activities witnessed during May, reflecting the continuous academic, scientific, and administrative momentum within the university.

In the field of quality assurance and accreditation, the university received delegations from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education during field visits for the renewal of institutional and program accreditation at several faculties, including the Faculty of Specific Education, the Faculty of Science, and the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology. This comes within the framework of implementing the university’s slogan for the academic year 2025/2026: “The Year of Quality and Government Excellence.”

During the session, Prof. Ahmed El-Kased praised the tremendous efforts exerted by the Quality Assurance Unit at both the university and faculty levels, noting that the university had conducted 12 support and review visits over the past two years, which represents an unprecedented achievement reflecting the scale of continuous development and improvement within academic and administrative sectors.

The University President emphasized that the quality and accreditation file remains a top priority for the university, with ongoing efforts toward obtaining institutional accreditation in a way that enhances the university’s status and elevates the quality of educational and research services provided to students.

He also stressed the importance of participation in the Egypt Government Excellence Award as one of the key tools for promoting a culture of institutional excellence, improving administrative efficiency, and enhancing service quality. He noted that the university is keen to support all faculties and departments in implementing standards of excellence, governance, and digital transformation in line with the Egyptian state’s vision for institutional development and sustainable development.

The university also welcomed Dr. Osama Al-Azhari to participate in an educational seminar entitled “Moderate Values and National Belonging Among University Youth.” In addition, the university hosted Dr. Vibke Bachmann, Regional Director of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), to discuss opportunities for study and scholarships in Germany and support international academic cooperation.

Within the framework of supporting digital transformation, the University President chaired the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Information Technology and Institutional Digital Transformation to follow up on the implementation of the university’s digitization plan and the development of the information technology system in line with the Egyptian state’s directions.

The University President also referred to the meeting held with the Dean of the Faculty of Law and the Director of the Quality Unit at the faculty to follow up on the quality assurance and academic accreditation file and discuss proposals for developing and updating the academic regulations in line with labor market requirements and recent developments in legal education, contributing to preparing graduates equipped with the required academic and professional skills.

During the meeting, the University President assigned the Dean of the Faculty of Law to prepare a comprehensive proposal for the new academic regulations and present it to the University Council within two months in preparation for taking the necessary procedures for approval, as part of the university’s ongoing plan to develop and modernize academic programs according to the latest educational systems and academic standards.

May also witnessed the opening of the 15th edition of the “FEE Control Exhibition 2026” for graduation projects at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, which included approximately 60 innovative projects in the fields of technology, digital transformation, and green transformation, enhancing the linkage between scientific research and the needs of industry and society.

The activities also included the opening of the annual Orphan’s Day celebration in cooperation with civil society institutions, holding periodic meetings to follow up on quality, international rankings, and government excellence files, in addition to monitoring the regularity of second semester examinations at several faculties and inspecting the university’s educational and medical facilities, including Menoufia University Hospital in Monshaat Sultan and the Technical Institute of Nursing.

During the meeting, the University President emphasized the importance of active participation in the Ministry of Higher Education’s initiative “A Faculty Member or Researcher for Every Factory,” which aims to strengthen cooperation between universities and the sectors of industry, production, and agriculture, bridging the traditional gap between scientific research and labor market needs, thus contributing to sustainable development and supporting the national economy.

The Council of Menoufia University also approved the formation of the Scientific Integrity Committee, the Institutional Review Board (IRB) Committee for Research Ethics, and the Artificial Intelligence Committee, as part of the university’s commitment to developing the scientific research system and advancing academic practices according to international standards.

The University President affirmed that these committees aim to promote the principles of scientific integrity and adherence to ethical standards in conducting research, in addition to establishing mechanisms for the responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies within the educational and research processes, thereby supporting innovation, digital transformation, and enhancing the quality of academic and research performance at the university.

The Vice Presidents of Menoufia University also reviewed matters related to the sectors of education and students, graduate studies and research, and community service and environmental development, along with the activities and events implemented during the past period. They also followed up on the progress of the educational process and examinations, quality assurance, scientific research, international rankings, initiatives, community activities, convoys, and developmental services provided by the university to serve the local community, affirming the continuation of work according to the university’s plan to achieve further development and excellence in various academic, research, service, and community sectors.
