Dr. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of Menoufia University, concluded today a tour by visiting “Elrahb farm”, which comes within the following of Minister of higher Education and Scientific Research of units produced at the level of Egyptian universities that he started today by visiting “Toukh tanbsha” farm of Menoufia University.
The visit aims at supporting the role of Egyptian universities toward society and contributing to the State's plan for sustainable development and the necessary continuity of work and active presence, meeting the requirements of this strategy, and contributing effectively to meeting the needs of strategic agricultural commodities and reducing loss using modern technology and the smart farming system to increase production, especially since agricultural industrialization is one of the main axes of this strategy for the development of the agricultural sector.
The Minister and President of the University inspected the “Elrahb farm”and the area of the cultivated lands, production of wheat, potatoes, green beans, beets, cabbage, lettuce, clover and onions, at a high rate of production that provides a large part of the needs of the university and the community, and displayed at the outlets of the Faculty of Agriculture at discounted prices. They also inspected the exhibition, which includes the products of the Faculty of Agriculture from honey, vegetables, meat and dairy products, and inspected the sheep and cattle barn containing different strains.
The Minister concluded his visit today by thanking the University of Menoufia for the services provided, praising the University's potential and its role in serving society, and emphasizing the support needed to increase the productive capacity of the farm to contribute to the food security of society.He promised another visit to follow up work and finish the development stages of the university, and seeks to execute them, the most important of which is the establishment of a factory of fodder, poultry farm and productive workshops.
The university president accompanied in his tour Dr. Ayman Hafez Eissa, dean of agriculture and accountant Akram Abd al-Dayem, the university Secretary-general, and Dr. said Omar, the university president's agricultural advisor.
