"El-Kased" inspects with members of the Coordination of Parties and Politicians the Oncology Hospital and the medical city project at Menoufia University

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, members of the coordination of parties and politicians visited the Oncology Hospital and the land on which the new medical city, the National Cancer Institute and the new oncology hospital will be built.
During the inspection tour, the president of the university and the coordinating members inspected the new expansions of the oncology hospital, which were opened recently, the intensive care in the hospital, the places for receiving radiological and chemotherapy treatment, and the latest oncology equipment owned by the hospital.
El-Kased explained that the Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Hospital in the university hospitals is the only one of its kind in the governorate that provides advanced medical service in the treatment of oncology patients in the governorate, as it mainly serves the Menoufia governorate and 3 neighboring governorates, as it receives patients from all governorates, indicating that it was recently attended by Major General Ibrahim Abu Lemon, Governor of Menoufia, inaugurating the expansion of the western wing of the hospital, which contributed to increasing the capacity by 30 beds distributed over three additional upper floors, bringing the total number of beds to 80 beds.
Dr. Ahmed El-Kased pointed out that the establishment of a national institute and a new hospital for oncology next to the current hospital has become necessary to accommodate the increasing number of patients. Al-Qased reviewed the current situation of university hospitals and the challenges that prevent the provision of high-quality medical services. Pointing out that the establishment of the new medical city aims to increase the number of patients. Internal beds from 980 to 3,700 beds, internal beds from 816 to 2,330, increasing the number of intensive care beds from 164 to 370 beds, and increasing the number of operating rooms from 34 to 65 rooms.
El-Kased confirmed that the university has prepared a vision for the establishment of the National Cancer Institute building, which lies in creating a main movement axis linking the liver institute axis with the Gamal Abdel Nasser axis, and making a main entrance to the medical complex, through a main entry through the new axis.
Adding that the new oncology building will include a ground floor + 7 recurring floors, and the ground floor will be allocated to complete the reception system in line with the size of the patients at the center, with the work of radiotherapy units so that the hospital can provide treatment to all visitors, in addition to establishing patient rooms and places to provide services It is not currently available in the existing building, in addition to allocating 3 floors for the pediatric treatment unit.
El-Kased announced that the equipment of the new National Institute will include 4 operating rooms equipped according to the latest technology, 4 modern radiotherapy machines, 2 radiotherapy planning stations, a simulator connected to a CT scan, and 100 chairs designated for carrying out chemotherapy.
Dr. Nasser Abdel Bari, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, added that the number of patients attending the Oncology Hospital is constantly increasing, which requires the speedy construction of the new hospital, indicating that the hospital received during the past year 3421 patients in the reception department, 28365 patients in outpatient clinics, 12014 patients in the internal department, and 9994 patients. chemotherapy session, while radiotherapy received 2462 patients, atomic scanning 1857 patients, and the therapeutic feeding unit received 8833 patients.
El-Kased and his accompanying delegation also inspected the land on which the new medical city will be built and reviewed the vision prepared by the university for the establishment of this new medical edifice.
