El-Kased announces the inclusion of 26 scientists from Menoufia University in Stanford's list of the top 2% of the most cited scientists worldwide

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, announced the inclusion of 26 scientists from Menoufia University in Stanford's list of the top 2% of the most cited scientists worldwide in various disciplines, congratulating all researchers on this well-deserved achievement that has been made and raised the name of the university in various international forums and global rankings.

The President of the University praised the important role of scientists and researchers in implementing the goals of sustainable development and achieving the vision and strategy of the Egyptian state 2030, and their vital role in developing scientific research and its outcomes, and seeking to implement partnerships with universities worldwide in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and his continuous support for the development of higher education and directing scientific research to meet the needs of basic sectors and serve society.

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased stressed the importance of supporting researchers and providing all the necessary needs to increase the number of scientists from the university listed on the Stanford list, and activating the necessary cooperation mechanisms between researchers from various disciplines at the university, in addition to supporting ways of cooperation with various research centers and partnership opportunities with researchers from abroad to achieve maximum benefit that serves the development of scientific research, also stressing the importance of implementing the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, through participation in funded research projects, and implementing scientific partnerships with many universities in different regions in research fields related to the needs of the basic sectors of the development process; activating the contribution of scientific research to the presidential initiative "Alliance and Development as a Locomotive of Development". The university president explained that the list of scientists included in the Stanford classification for the year 2024 from Menoufia University reached 26 researchers, male and female, namely:

From the Faculty of Science: Dr. Raouf Al-Malwani, Dr. Yasser Ramah, Dr. Mohamed Abu Shady, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahim, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali, Dr. Amr Talaba, Dr. Omar Saeed, Dr. Wael Amer, Dr. Ali Abu Haswa, Dr. Fouad Al-Ajwani, and from the Faculty of Electronic Engineering: Dr. Fathy Abdel Samee, Dr. Ahmed Rashid, Dr. Mohamed Ismail Karar, Dr. Nasser Saeed, Dr. Ezz El-Din Badawi Gad El-Rab, Dr. Walid El-Shafei.

From the Faculty of Computers and Information: Dr. Mohamed Adel Hammad, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullah El-Gendy, and from the Faculty of Engineering: Dr. Rizk Masoud, Dr. Essam Rushdi, Dr. Maha Tony, Dr. Adel Abu El-Ela, Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Abu El-Maati, Dr. Ahmed El-Kholi, and Dr. Imam Waqed from the National Liver Institute, and Dr. Mohamed Salem from the Faculty of Pharmacy.

It is worth noting that Stanford University relies on the Scopus database of the scientific publisher Elsevier to extract various indicators for the list, and it depends on the number of citations to research published by other authors (H-index), the HM index for co-authorship, citations to research papers in different authorship topics, and a composite index (C-Score). The list includes more than 210,000 scientists from 167 countries around the world, and scientists are classified in 22 scientific fields.
