Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Menoufia University organized a free veterinary convoy to Kafr Abu Al-Hassan village, Quesna, under the supervision of Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and with the participation of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Menoufia and the Quesna Center Administration.
Dr. Ahmed El-Kased pointed out that Menoufia University is keen to organize integrated convoys to the villages and areas most in need and organize veterinary convoys with the aim of increasing veterinary awareness among villagers and providing the best levels of veterinary care for livestock through free examination of sick cases and holding advisory meetings with citizens to increase awareness and increase production. Adding that the veterinary medical convoy included distinguished medical cadres from veterinarians at the university and the veterinary unit, and the Menoufia Veterinary Syndicate, in addition to providing the opportunity to train university students on clinical field cases, stressing that veterinary medical convoys are a real opportunity for the student to directly communicate with community parties to gain real experiences that develop his abilities in dealing with society after graduation and the beginning of practical life.
Dr. Sobhi Sharaf stressed that the Community Service Sector is keen to diversify the convoys it organizes to include medical, veterinary, awareness, industrial, agricultural and cultural services to reach every individual in the most needy villages, and the interest in veterinary convoys comes with the aim of contributing to supporting the economy of productive families, which in turn leads to supporting the national economy from livestock and poultry.
Dr. Saber Al-Fayoumi, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, added that the convoy examined a large and diverse number of livestock in the village, and the number of beneficiaries reached (70) cases of internal diseases in cows and sheep. Pregnancy cases were also diagnosed using sonar for (130) cases between sheep, cows and horses, and (150) cases of poultry and rabbits. Dr. Sayed Jalila, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Iman Baza, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Al-Shatby, Director of the Scientific Center at the General Syndicate of Veterinarians in Cairo and a researcher at the Animal Health Research Institute in Kafr El-Sheikh, Dr. Rafat Hammad, Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate, Dr. Sabry Al-Fakharani, Director of the Care and Treatment Department at the Directorate, and Dr. Siham Hamdy, General Coordinator of Veterinary Convoys at the Directorate and Quesna Veterinary Administration, participated in the convoy's work.
