Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, Menoufia University, announced the qualification of two teams from the university for the final stage of the "Smart Education Hackathon", which is held at Benha University under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in cooperation with the Innovators and Geniuses Care Fund "ISF", and the Information Technology Institute (ITI) affiliated to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased indicated that the qualified teams number 35 teams representing 25 public, private, civil and technological universities.

El-Kased added that the seven hackathon tracks are integrated and aim to create a package of modern software ideas and projects and harness information and communications technology to improve the education process and enhance learning effectiveness, in addition to finding innovative solutions in several different fields including distance education, interactivity in education, flexible education tools, language learning platforms, transforming learning into a game, learner support systems, and data analysis for education, explaining that Benha University announced the participation of 214 teams representing 57 public and private universities And civil, and after the initial qualifiers, 35 teams representing 25 public, private and civil universities succeeded in participating in the final stage of the hackathon.

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased added that the university's participation in the "Smart Education Hackathon" comes within the framework of belief in the role of higher education and scientific research in supporting digital transformation, in addition to the continuous pursuit of achieving the goals of Egypt's Vision 2030 by transforming into a knowledge-based digital economy, encouraging innovation, research and development, by enhancing and motivating young programmers and owners of ideas and visions to present their smart ideas and software projects, stressing the provision of all the necessary capabilities for students to participate in the hackathon and help students implement their ideas and projects, praising the students' performance and scientific and technological excellence.

Dr. Nasser Abdel Bary, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, also praised the efforts made by the students in the stages of the competition until qualifying for the final stage, stressing that the university is always keen to provide a supportive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.

The students' participation is supervised by Dr. Mohamed Shaheen, General Manager of the General Administration of Student Care at the University, and Mervat Arafa, Director of the Scientific and Technological Activity Department. The university is represented by the "Edu-pract" team, led by Mohamed Mamdouh Ibrahim and Adel Mahmoud Youssef, and includes students Omar Yasser Farouk El-Dahry and Omar Adel Abdel Hakim. The "Tycoons" team, led by Omar Ibrahim Fathy Ibrahim, and includes Menatallah Medhat, Maya Ahmed Zaher, Mahmoud Hamdy and Marwan Mohamed Sayed Abdo. The final events of the competition will take place over the days from February 9 to 11, where the winning teams will be announced at the end of the competition. Benha University will present cash prizes to the teams that win the first three places, in 7 tracks, with a total of 280 thousand pounds from Benha University and the Innovators and Geniuses Care Fund, where the first place winner will receive a prize worth 20,000 pounds, while the second place winner will receive 12,000 pounds, while the third place winner will receive 8,000 pounds.
