Menofia University President, Prof. Ahmed Elkased, participates in the QS Higher Education Summit Asia Pacific 2025, which launched today at Korea University in Seul, with participating elites of university presidents, experts, and officials in higher education from all over the world. This summit comes within the framework of international universities’ efforts to build strategic partnerships and foster academic and cultural understanding among the peoples of Asia and the Pacific Ocean.

The inauguration session included a speech given by Mr. Ban Ki-moon, former UN Secretary-General, who stressed the importance of education as a motivational force towards achieving sustainable development and enhancing international cooperation in the face of global challenges.

Prof. Ahmed Elkased, Menofia University President, pointed out that Egypt is strongly represented at the Summit, as several public and private universities are participating within a huge, distinctive, booth that reflects the great advancement, during the past decade, in the higher education and scientific research sector; under the care of the Egyptian state and its leader, his excellency, President Abdulfattah Alsisi. He added that the Egyptian booth includes outstanding orientation presentations that showcase the achievements of Egyptian universities in the fields of education, scientific research, and innovation; in addition to international cooperation initiatives and academic partnerships with leading international universities.

Menofia University President stated that Egypt’s participation in this international event is expected to have a powerful and influential effect on international universities’ ranking systems, through showing the achievements accomplished by Egyptian academic institutions in the fields of educational accreditation and quality assurance, scientific research, community service, and globalization.

At Egypt’s booth in the higher education exhibition annexed to the Summit, Prof. Alkased met with representatives of Indian, Korean, Malaysian, Chinese, and Azerbaijan universities; which is an important step towards enhancing Menofia University’s regional and international presence in the fields of education and scientific research. This also comes within the framework of executing the goals of the national higher education strategy, aiming towards fostering international partnerships, joint degrees, and attracting international students. Prof. Alkased expects that the bilateral meetings between Egyptian university presidents and their international counterparts would result in signing new scientific and research agreements, which would open new horizons for academic exchange, and foster Egypt’s status as a leading nation in the field of international education in Africa and the Middle East.
