Menoufia University Provides Free Medical Examinations for 418 Citizens in Kafr Batbes, Tala, and Organizes Awareness Seminar for Girls Preparing for Marriage

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the university organized a comprehensive medical and awareness convoy for the residents of Kafr Batbes Village, Tala Center. The convoy provided free medical examinations and treatment to 418 citizens, as part of the university’s commitment to continuing integrated medical convoys to the most underserved villages in Menoufia Governorate, in line with presidential initiatives and the university’s role in serving the local community. The convoy was supervised by Dr. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Dr. El-Kased affirmed the university’s commitment to sustaining medical convoys across the most in-need villages of Menoufia Governorate, providing medical and therapeutic services, and enhancing community awareness of pressing social and health-related issues. He highlighted the importance of organizing training and awareness seminars for individuals preparing for marriage, offering guidance that contributes to building a healthy and stable family environment—particularly for girls in rural areas. He added that Menoufia University operates in accordance with the state’s development plans and Egypt Vision 2030 for sustainable development, aiming to support citizens, deliver essential healthcare services, and raise health and social awareness through the expertise of its distinguished academic staff.

Dr. Sobhy Sharaf stated that the medical convoy examined 418 citizens, referring cases requiring further care to Menoufia University Hospitals. The convoy covered seven medical specialties, including Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Chest Diseases, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), and Family Medicine. In addition, the Faculty of Nursing delivered an awareness seminar on pre-marital preparation, focusing on psychological and social readiness for building a stable family, proper partner selection, effective communication between spouses, conflict management, positive handling of family problems, and reducing marital disputes.

The convoy was supervised by Prof. Mohamed El-Noamani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Haitham Maimoun, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Amal Shahata, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Shady Allam, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service; and Dr. Sanaa Saafan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing for Community Service and Environmental Development, with organization by the University’s Integrated Convoys Department.

The activities were conducted in cooperation with Menoufia Governorate, Haya Karima Foundation, the Directorate of Health Affairs in Menoufia, the General Authority for Adult Education and Literacy, and the village health unit. The convoy also included participation from the Directorate of Health Affairs through the Presidential Initiatives “100 Days of Health”, providing services related to the Women’s Health Support Initiative for early breast cancer detection, early detection and treatment of cancer (lung, colon, prostate, and cervical cancer), as well as early detection and treatment of chronic diseases and kidney disorders. The General Authority for Adult Education and Literacy also participated by conducting literacy assessments and issuing 34 certificates to village residents.
