Under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the six-day Presidential Initiative "Tamkeen" to support persons with disabilities concluded successfully. The initiative was organized by Menoufia University under the supervision of Dr. Nasser Abdelbary, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Saher, Director of the University’s Center for Persons with Disabilities, and Dr. Atiyat Mohamed, Deputy Director of the Center, with support from Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Prof. El-Kased emphasized that the initiative reflects the strong commitment of the Egyptian state, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to empower persons with disabilities and integrate them into society. He highlighted that "Tamkeen" embodies the political leadership’s dedication to providing all necessary support and care for students with disabilities within higher education institutions.
He added that this national initiative represents a pioneering step towards building an inclusive society based on justice, equality, and equal opportunities, by academically, professionally, and socially empowering students with disabilities. The initiative seeks to nurture their capabilities and harness their potential in serving the nation, reinforcing the vision of the New Republic, which recognizes that disabilities are not limitations but unique abilities deserving care and opportunities to demonstrate their talents and contribute to building the future.
Dr. Nasser Abdelbary underscored that Menoufia University pays special attention to supporting students with disabilities through raising societal awareness of their rights, ensuring equality, integrating them effectively into the university environment, and removing any obstacles they may face, thereby fostering an inclusive and motivating educational environment.
Dr. Ahmed Saher, Director of the Center for Persons with Disabilities, stated that the Center is committed to serving and supporting students with disabilities, and that the "Tamkeen" initiative reflects the state’s full commitment to achieving its goals by providing comprehensive academic, psychological, and social services, and ensuring an inclusive educational environment for all students without discrimination.
The initiative included a series of activities and seminars over six days:

Day 1 (Faculty of Physical Education): Seminar on writing CVs for students with disabilities, conducted by Dr. Hany Ibrahim, Director of the Career Development Center, along with recreational and entertainment activities supervised by Dr. Saher and Dr. Atiyat Mohamed.

Day 2: Indoor football tournament for students with disabilities at the university stadium, attended by university leaders, with certificates of appreciation and trophies awarded to the winning team, alongside performances by Physical Education students.

Day 3 (National Liver Institute): Three seminars covering “First Aid” by Dr. Amani Mamdouh, “Evacuation and Crisis Management” by Dr. Azza El-Khouly, and “Rights of Persons with Disabilities under Egyptian Law” by Dr. Eman Abu El-Kheir from the Faculty of Law.

Day 4 (Faculty of Education): Inclusive student meetings by Dr. Abdelrahman El-Abyari, seminars on disability rights and Law No. 10 of 2018, and interactive recreational activities such as painting, writing skills, chess, and table tennis.

Day 5 (Faculty of Arts): Seminar on psychological and social issues facing students with disabilities, presented by Dr. Jehan Mahrous, with strategies for effective integration within the university community.

Day 6 (University Center for Persons with Disabilities): Seminars on bullying and the challenges facing persons with disabilities, along with practical activities divided by students’ abilities, supervised by Dr. Ahmed Saher and Dr. Atiyat Mohamed.
Menoufia University reaffirmed its full commitment to continuing programs that support and empower persons with disabilities, removing barriers, and achieving an inclusive and sustainable educational environment that reflects values of humanity, citizenship, and equality of opportunity.
