Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, and Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Menoufia, inaugurated the new expansions of the Model Health Insurance Clinic at the University Administration. This step comes as part of supporting the university’s healthcare system and providing integrated medical services to staff and faculty members according to the highest quality standards. The inauguration aligns with the directives of the political leadership to develop the healthcare infrastructure and enhance the quality of medical services, keeping pace with the rapid advancements in healthcare delivery.
The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Nasser Abdel-Bary, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ghada Ali Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Ahmed Zaki Badr, University Council Member from outside, Ms. Suad Bayoumi, University Secretary General, and Dr. Mohamed Fouad, Director General of the Menoufia Health Insurance Authority.
During the inauguration, Prof. El-Kased emphasized that the clinic expansions represent a major leap in the quality of healthcare services offered on campus and enhance the efficiency of medical care for staff and faculty. He noted that these developments are part of the university’s vision to provide a fully integrated healthcare environment that meets the highest quality standards and continuously responds to the needs of the university community.
The expansion project included upgrading the clinic’s capacity to ensure faster service delivery and reduced waiting times. Additional medical specialties were added, including Internal Medicine, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Surgery, Dermatology, Orthopedics, and Pulmonology, along with a pharmacy and a waiting lounge for visitors. Physicians in various specialties are now available throughout the week to facilitate access to healthcare and ensure the timely provision of medications for staff and faculty beneficiaries.
Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Menoufia, praised the scale of the expansions, highlighting their role in alleviating crowding in health insurance clinics and improving the quality of medical services provided. He reaffirmed his commitment to implementing effective measures to serve health insurance patients, particularly the elderly, ensuring their right to dignified healthcare, in line with Egypt’s national vision for enhanced healthcare services and infrastructure development.
The governor also emphasized full support for Menoufia University in implementing medical and academic projects that contribute to the governorate’s development plans and confirmed continued cooperation between the university, the governorate, and relevant authorities to provide all forms of support for the healthcare sector. This includes establishing future medical projects and expanding new health insurance branches to serve beneficiaries and elevate the quality of medical services.
The expansions of the university’s Model Health Insurance Clinic were carried out under the supervision of Dr. Marwa Mahfouz, Advisor to the University President for Pharmaceutical Affairs, following the directives of Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, in coordination with the General Authority for Health Insurance.
