Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Ahmed Zaki Badr, former Minister of Local Development, and Major General Abdullah El-Deeb, Secretary-General of the Governorate deputizing for Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Menoufia, inspected the activities of the third local conference titled “The Role of the University in Localizing and Developing Craft Projects and National Industries… Sustainable Innovation.”
The event was held at the Grand Conference Hall of the Faculty of Law, in the presence of Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Nasser Abdel-Bary, Vice President for Education and Students, Prof. Ghada Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, together with vice presidents of participating universities, faculty deans, and Colonel Mohamed Gaafar, the Military Advisor of the Governorate.

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased emphasized that organizing this exhibition comes as an extension of the university’s leading role in supporting the craft sector and both traditional and modern industries. He noted that the third conference of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector constitutes a strategic pillar in supporting small and innovative projects—particularly in industrial rural villages rich in authentic craft skills.

El-Kased stressed that sustainable innovation has become an essential requirement for advancing Egyptian industry and achieving genuine competitiveness in local and international markets. He affirmed the university’s commitment to supporting young entrepreneurs and providing an educational and research environment that nurtures innovation and development.

He further explained that Menoufia University goes beyond its academic mission to serve the community and support the national economy. These events represent a meeting point between scientific research and the actual needs of the labor market. El-Kased added that the university is working to strengthen cooperation between faculties, production units, and craftsmen with the aim of transforming students’ creativity into marketable products and developing the entrepreneurship ecosystem within the university. He confirmed the university’s continued plan to expand the establishment of specialized training centers and business incubators to support crafts and small industries, contributing to job creation and sustainable community development.

Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Menoufia, highlighted the effective and vital role of Menoufia University in contributing to development plans across the governorate, stressing its position as a distinguished educational institution committed to community development and strategic future projects, in addition to scientific research.

Major General Abdullah El-Deeb praised the exhibits, reaffirming the governorate’s support for small, medium, and micro enterprises, and its readiness to provide all forms of assistance to project owners and students with entrepreneurial initiatives.

During his tour, Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities, expressed his admiration for the high quality of innovations and products on display. He commended the university’s ability to integrate modern technologies into developing heritage and craft products, designing eco-friendly local raw materials, and creating an electronic platform to market university products.
He added that Menoufia University represents a national model in promoting craft culture in Egyptian villages and implementing applied models for sustainable villages such as Bakhati Village, in addition to its strong cooperation with local institutions operating in various handicrafts.

The exhibition received wide praise from participating university vice presidents after touring its various pavilions showcasing environmentally friendly products that support the concept of green development and protect human and environmental health, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The exhibition featured a wide range of innovative student projects.
The Faculty of Engineering presented a device for producing the highest rate of green hydrogen using solar energy, a self-propelled wheelchair, and a smart neonatal incubator operated remotely.
The Faculty of Science showcased eco-friendly detergents and products from its Printing and Copying Unit.
The Faculty of Specific Education presented artworks created by students with disabilities using natural recycled materials, along with environmental awareness campaigns.

Other contributions included eco-friendly educational models from the Faculty of Early Childhood Education, medical models from the Faculty of Nursing, natural food products from the Faculty of Home Economics, and innovative therapeutic and cosmetic products from the Faculty of Pharmacy. The Faculty of Arts also contributed with artistic paintings and student models reflecting creativity and innovation.

Several institutions participated in the exhibition, including the Cabinet of Ministers, the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency, Tala Business Incubator, and Grand Agri Group for fertilizers and agricultural nutrients.
