Menoufia University Launches Its National Technological University and Announces the Start of Study Next Academic Year

Within the framework of supporting the State’s efforts to develop the higher education system and align its outputs with labor market needs, Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, announced the launch of the Menoufia National Technological University, in preparation for the commencement of study starting from the next academic year. This strategic step reflects the University’s direction toward supporting applied technological education in Menoufia Governorate.

The University President affirmed that the National Technological University represents a qualitative addition to the technical and technological education pathway in Egypt. He explained that, during its initial phase, study will begin within Menoufia University facilities at Mazraet Al-Raheb, until the completion of the construction of the new university campus in Sadat City.

Prof. El-Kased clarified that, in its first phase, the University will offer 16 academic programs in vital fields serving production and industrial sectors, including pharmaceutical manufacturing, agricultural manufacturing, and several advanced engineering specializations. He noted that the University is currently finalizing the academic and administrative bylaws required for accreditation and operation for the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Industrial and Energy Technology

  • Faculty of Information Technology, Communications, and Artificial Intelligence

  • Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Food Processing

  • Faculty of Pharmaceutical Industries Technology

  • Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology

These remarks were made during an expanded meeting chaired by the University President to follow up on the latest preparations for the start of study at the Menoufia National Technological University, and to discuss the proposed bylaws, as well as academic and administrative operating mechanisms in accordance with quality assurance and accreditation standards.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Mrs. Souad Bayoumi, Secretary-General of the University; and Prof. Hatem Abdel-Qader, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information and Supervisor of the preparation of the Technological University, in addition to a number of academic leaders and faculty members.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased pointed out that the establishment of the Technological University comes within the framework of the Egyptian State’s vision and Menoufia University’s support for applied education pathways. This contributes to enhancing students’ practical training and preparing graduates with advanced technical skills that qualify them to compete in local and regional labor markets.

He added that technological universities constitute one of the main pillars of the modern higher education system, given their pivotal role in preparing scientifically and practically qualified cadres through integrating theoretical study with applied training. This approach helps reduce the gap between educational outputs and the needs of industry, production, and service sectors.

The President of Menoufia University further emphasized the University’s commitment to supporting technological education and achieving integration between it and traditional university education, in line with the State’s vision of building the Egyptian citizen and keeping pace with the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and digital transformation. He noted that investment in technological education is a direct investment in the future of the nation.

He also highlighted the importance of establishing effective partnerships with industrial and production institutions to provide distinguished practical training opportunities for students and to prepare them for competition at local, regional, and international levels. He stressed that technological universities have become an integral part of the State’s strategy to develop technical and university education and meet the needs of the modern economy.

The meeting further discussed the academic structure of the University, mechanisms for implementing the new study programs, admission regulations, and plans for accrediting laboratories and technical facilities, ensuring the University’s launch according to an ambitious strategic vision that supports applied and professional technological education and contributes to upgrading the education system in Menoufia Governorate and beyond.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Nora Samri, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Tamer Fattouh, Coordinator of the Electrical Engineering Program at the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Mohamed Nabih, Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture; Prof. Samah Abu El-Yazid, Professor at the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology; Prof. Ola Youssef Abdel-Lah, Head of the Clothing and Textiles Department at the Faculty of Home Economics; Prof. Dalia El-Sebaaoui from the Faculty of Pharmacy; Eng. Rabab El-Daly, Supervisor of the administrative and organizational affairs of the Menoufia National Technological University; and Prof. Enas Abu El-Nour, Secretary of the Committee.
