Menoufia University’s Integrated Medical Convoys Provide Free Check-ups and Treatment to 606 Residents of “Saqiyat Abu Sha’ra” Village in Ashmoon

Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the university organized a comprehensive free medical convoy for the residents of Saqiyat Abu Sha’ra village, Ashmoon. The initiative was supervised by Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in cooperation with the Menoufia Governorate, Hayat Karima Foundation, Egyptian Red Crescent Society, General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education in Menoufia, and the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy. The convoy was held at the premises of Misr Menoufia Hospital, affiliated with the Charitable Society, in Saqiyat Abu Sha’ra.

Prof. El-Kased emphasized the university’s commitment to continuing medical convoys across Menoufia villages, within the framework of the presidential initiative. He highlighted the university’s community role and its dedication to utilizing its resources and expertise to serve the local population, leveraging highly qualified faculty in specialties such as Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Pulmonology, Dermatology, and Ophthalmology.

Prof. Sobhi Sharaf stated that the medical convoy provided free check-ups and treatment to 606 individuals, while cases requiring specialized care were referred to the university hospitals.

The convoy included a distinguished team of university doctors and pharmacists, ensuring comprehensive medical coverage.

The Hayat Karima Foundation contributed actively in organizing and coordinating the convoy, while the Egyptian Red Crescent Society donated medications and assisted in the organization through its volunteer teams. Additionally, the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education in Menoufia conducted literacy activities for 83 adults under the supervision of Ms. Sahar Sweilem, Branch Director, and Mr. Basem Al-Taweel, Deputy Branch Head.

Medical supervision and monitoring of the convoy were carried out by Prof. Mohamed El-Nemany, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Haitham Maimoun, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Rania Azmi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development at the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Shadi Allam, Vice Dean for Community Service at the Faculty of Pharmacy.
