A Student Delegation from the Faculty of Science at Menoufia University Visits the Main Laboratories of the Armed Forces Chemical Warfare Department to Enhance Practical Expertise

Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the Popular and Military Defense Forces Command, in cooperation with the Military Education Department and the Leadership Preparation Department at the General Administration of Student Welfare at the university, organized a field visit for a student delegation from the Faculty of Science to the Main Laboratories of the Armed Forces Chemical Warfare Department. The visit was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and in coordination with Lieutenant Colonel Taha Salah Matar, Director of the Military Education Department at the university.

The University President emphasized the importance of such specialized field visits, as they represent a genuine opportunity to link academic study with practical application and allow students to explore the latest technologies and equipment used within laboratories. He also highlighted the value of introducing students to methods of chemical analysis and detection in accordance with the highest standards of accuracy and safety, particularly in light of the unprecedented developmental progress currently witnessed by the Egyptian state.

Prof. El-Kased added that the university operates according to a modern strategic vision aimed at building students’ academic and practical capacities through developing their innovative and applied skills and enhancing their ability to interact with labor market requirements. He affirmed that such visits contribute to refining students’ expertise and broadening their perspectives, thereby qualifying them to compete efficiently at both local and international levels.

The University President further pointed out that cooperation with major national institutions, foremost among them the Main Laboratories of the Armed Forces Chemical Warfare Department, reflects the university’s commitment to benefiting from the advanced technical and technological capabilities possessed by these institutions in a manner that supports the educational and research process and enhances the quality of its outcomes.

Prof. El-Kased also stressed that the university places strengthening national belonging among students at the top of its priorities by introducing them to the vital role played by state institutions, particularly in the fields of chemical protection, security, and environmental preservation, thereby contributing to preparing an aware generation capable of confronting various challenges.

He explained that Menoufia University continues to expand the organization of specialized scientific and training visits in cooperation with different state institutions in order to achieve integration between academic knowledge and field experience. He noted that the coming phase will witness the launch of المزيد من المبادرات aimed at qualifying students according to the latest international standards and in line with the requirements of sustainable development and Egypt Vision 2030.

For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Taha Matar explained that the visit comes within the framework of the training activities plan aimed at strengthening students’ spirit of loyalty and belonging and linking university education outcomes with labor market needs, thereby contributing to preparing qualified cadres capable of participating in building the nation’s future.

The Main Laboratories of the Armed Forces Chemical Warfare Department are considered among the leading specialized scientific institutions in the field of chemical analysis and detection at the state level and constitute one of the main pillars of the chemical security and protection system.

The visit included the participation of 50 male and female students from the Faculty of Science under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Shaheen, Director General of the General Administration of Student Welfare, and Osama Deif, Director of the Leadership Preparation Department.

The students expressed their appreciation for the visit, affirming that it represented a rich scientific experience that contributed to enhancing their applied knowledge and linking theoretical study with practical reality. They also praised the warm reception and excellent organization.

The delegation was accompanied by Colonel Abdel Fattah Ezz Abdel Fattah, who led the delegation and supervised the implementation of the visit program. They were also accompanied during the visit by Prof. Mohamed Gamal Abdel Kawy, Lecturer at the Chemistry Department and Group Supervisor, and Osama Shawky Deif, Director of the Leadership Preparation Department.
