Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired an expanded meeting of the Standing Committee for Activating Government Excellence Practices at the university. The meeting reviewed the final technical arrangements and documentation related to nomination files for the fifth cycle of the Egypt Government Excellence Award 2026, organized by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Nehad Osman, Deputy General Coordinator of the Egypt Government Excellence Award, and members of the committee responsible for implementing excellence practices across university faculties.

During the meeting, the President announced that the electronic application process and nomination submissions remain open for all university sectors and faculties until 30 June 2026. He stressed the importance of utilizing this period to further develop and refine nomination files to ensure strong representation that reflects the name and history of Menoufia University on the Government Excellence platform.

He affirmed that the Egypt Government Excellence Award represents an important pillar in supporting institutional development and enhancing administrative performance efficiency, noting that the university operates under an integrated vision aimed at embedding quality, governance, and innovation across academic and administrative sectors in line with Egypt’s approach toward building an efficient and sustainable administrative system.

He further explained that the current cycle of the award primarily focuses on promoting both individual and institutional competition, which positively contributes to strengthening cooperation between the university and various service institutions, improving the quality of services provided to citizens, and achieving the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030 for sustainable development.

The President also praised the continuous efforts of Menoufia University in applying governance standards and workplace fairness, as well as in spreading the culture and concept of excellence in daily work environments. He highlighted the university’s success in enhancing institutional readiness and sustaining outstanding performance based on its achievements in previous award cycles.

He added that the university is keen to provide full technical and administrative support to faculties and participating sectors in order to prepare strong nomination files that reflect the university’s development across various fields, emphasizing that teamwork and institutional integration are the key pillars for achieving advanced positions in the award.

In this context, he directed the formation of specialized working teams to provide technical support, conduct desk reviews, and carry out field advisory visits to the nominated faculties, namely: the Faculty of Pharmacy, the National Liver Institute, the Faculty of Electronic Engineering in Shebin El-Kom, and the Faculty of Engineering. These teams are scheduled to begin their evaluation work immediately after the closing of the application period at the end of June, in preparation for the official evaluation and judging phase conducted by the Ministry of Planning between July and September 2026.

He called on all academic and administrative staff to actively participate and apply in both individual and newly introduced categories this year, stressing that excellence is no longer an optional approach but a fully integrated working methodology adopted by the university to enhance academic and administrative performance across all sectors.

It is worth noting that the fifth cycle of the Egypt Government Excellence Award 2026 serves as a national tool to promote leadership and competitiveness among participating governmental entities. It introduces several new categories aligned with national development directions, most notably: the “Best Joint Project and Initiative Award” to enhance cross-sector collaboration, the “Best Disability-Friendly Entity Award,” and the “Digital Government Services Maturity Excellence Award.”
