Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, inaugurated the 30th Annual Conference of the Faculty of Medicine, which was held over three days under the auspices of the University President and titled "Drawing a New Health Map in Light of Presidential Initiatives." The conference was attended by Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Nasser Abdel Bary, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Nancy Asaad, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Prof. Ekramy Gamal, Secretary General of the University; Prof. Mohamed El-Nomaani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Conference Chair; Prof. Rania Azmy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and Conference Rapporteur; Prof. Mohamed El-Sawy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mohamed Abu El-Fotouh, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies; and Prof. Mohamed Sabry, Executive Director of University Hospitals and hospital directors. The conference was also attended by deans of faculties, heads of medical professions, department heads, faculty members, and students.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased welcomed the guests and attendees of the conference and thanked the conference organizers. He expressed his happiness at attending the conference, which the college is organizing. Over the course of 30 years, he emphasized that the Faculty of Medicine and university hospitals have witnessed continuous development in all fields. He explained that the achievements they have made were due to the efforts of its sons, praising the spirit of love and cooperation among university staff to advance the university and achieve continuous development and successive achievements. He noted that everyone carries a noble mission and is building on what has been accomplished over the past years.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased added that the university's medical sector receives significant attention, given that medical care is a fundamental requirement for the governorate's residents, with the population increasing. He noted that the area available for expansion of the medical complex has been increased, and a new medical city with the latest international specifications has been constructed, spanning 10 acres in two phases. This is in addition to the existing medical facilities and faculties of the medical complex. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring that university hospitals obtain accreditation and fully automate them, starting with the National Liver Institute Hospital.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased also praised the scientific content discussed at the conference and the presidential initiatives to care for the health and quality of life of citizens. He emphasized that Menoufia University has been and continues to be a key supporter, along with the state, of implementing these initiatives that focus on education and health. He expressed his happiness at attending the conference and being present among the faculty and students. He emphasized the importance of student participation in the conference activities and the formation of student research teams and groups to train students in scientific research and benefit from the expertise of professors and researchers. This is to produce students who understand the importance of scientific research and a new generation of researchers.
The university president stated that the university also seeks, as part of its ambitious plan, to establish a continuing medical education center and educational programs for Egyptian and international university students. He noted the increasing number of international students studying at the university's colleges and the importance of attracting more international students to study at the university.
The university president also emphasized the importance of integration and cooperation between the university's various units and the necessity of conducting joint research between the departments of the Faculty of Medicine and the university's colleges, which would have a positive impact on the provision of medical services, research, and service to the university.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed El-Nomaani welcomed the attendees and thanked Prof. Ahmed El-Kased for his continued support of the college and university hospitals. He noted that the conference stems from the effective role of presidential initiatives and discussed 50 lectures, delivered by 145 lecturers and chaired by 95 professors from various medical specialties, through 30 scientific sessions.
