The event was attended by Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development and Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Ghada Ali Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; deans of faculties; Lt. Taha Matar, Director of Military Education at the University; Dr. Moawad Hamad Abdel-Wahab, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf in Menoufia; representatives of “Students for Egypt”; and male and female students of the university. The seminar was delivered by Prof. Hassan Khattab, Professor at the Faculty of Arts.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased welcomed His Eminence Prof. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Awqaf, along with all attendees from inside and outside the university, as well as students. He emphasized the importance of instilling and promoting the values of moderation and national belonging among Menoufia University students, reflecting the university’s commitment to building a conscious generation and consolidating national values and enlightened thinking in the face of extremism and destructive ideas.

He stated that university youth represent the true driving force for building the nation and shaping its future, noting that the Egyptian state, under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, places great importance on young people by supporting and empowering them academically, culturally, and intellectually, enhancing their participation in various fields of development, and confronting challenges with awareness and patriotism. This comes in belief in their pivotal role in achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030 and building the New Republic.

El-Kased also affirmed the University of Menoufia’s commitment to providing an integrated educational system that combines academic excellence with the development of students’ national and cultural awareness through modernized academic programs and expanded student activities.

For his part, Prof. Osama Al-Azhari expressed his deep appreciation for the warm reception at Menoufia University, extending sincere thanks to Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, the university president, for leading this academic institution with a sincere national vision, as well as to the deans and students, describing them as the promising generation and the shield of Egypt across the ages.

The Minister of Awqaf praised the remarkable development witnessed by Menoufia University across its educational and research sectors, affirming that it represents a distinguished model among Egyptian universities that combines academic excellence with national awareness building. He also extended congratulations to the university on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee this year, commending its fifty-year journey of scientific and societal contributions and its leading role in preparing generations that actively serve the nation and its future development.

The seminar included an open educational dialogue between the Minister of Awqaf and university students, addressing forms and values of national belonging, citizenship, and moderation in shaping the Egyptian human being. He referred to one of Egypt’s most significant architectural landmarks, historically known as the “Pyramid of Islamic Architecture”—the Sultan Hassan Mosque—which was built in three years and stands as a testament to the greatness of Egyptian civilization and the values of belonging and mastery throughout history.

During the meeting, the Minister highlighted several citizenship values that reflect the moral and intellectual awareness of Menoufia University students, including trust, challenge, mastery, certainty, knowledge, generational continuity, sustainability, time management, and the responsibility of preserving the national legacy for future generations. These values reflect the resilience of the Egyptian citizen over more than six thousand years and affirm the strength and greatness of the Egyptian state.

Al-Azhari also emphasized the importance of strengthening values of belonging and citizenship among university youth, confronting challenges of development and sustainable progress, embracing the mission of nation-building, inheriting responsibility from previous generations, and elevating Egypt’s status through constructive thinking rather than destructive ideologies, in light of the national unity that characterizes the Egyptian state.

The seminar concluded with Prof. Ahmed El-Kased presenting the Menoufia University Shield to Prof. Osama Al-Azhari in recognition of his role in promoting moderate thought. The event also included commemorative photos reflecting the appreciation of the university’s leadership and students for the Minister’s role in intellectual enlightenment and support for Egypt’s Vision 2030.
