   Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of Menoufia University, laid the foundation stone for the medical city of Menoufia University, during his first visit to Menoufia University, accompanied by Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and official spokesperson for the ministry, and a number of ministry and university leaders.
During the visit, the minister praised the level of technical and laboratory equipment for the medical complex at Menoufia University, stressing that the university’s medical city will represent a distinguished addition to the medical complex at Menoufia University, pointing out that the city aims to accommodate a large number of patients who frequent the medical complex, and provide a distinguished medical service within the governorate of Menoufia. .
The university president stated that the project to establish the medical city at Menoufia University is being built on an area of ​​five acres, adding that the project came in light of the horizontal expansion of the university’s medical complex; With the aim of adding hospitals and specialized medical centers; To provide all medical services required for the citizens of the province.
He added that the target after the completion of the Menoufia University Medical City project is to increase the number of internal beds from 980 to 3750 beds, to increase the number of intensive care beds from 132 to 350 beds, and to increase the number of operating rooms from 46 to 82 rooms, in addition to that the city aims to eliminate Waiting lists in rooms, operations, and intensive care, and adding new medical services provided for the first time within the governorate, such as: kidney transplantation, bone marrow transplantation, and treatment of pediatric tumors, as well as adding new and multiple places to train students of medical sector faculties at Menoufia University, as well as Ahlia University.
The President of the University thanked everyone who contributed to the achievement of this new achievement, which is being achieved on the university's land, to serve the people of the governorate and neighboring governorates.
The laying of the foundation stone was witnessed by the Vice President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Al-Kased for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Nancy Asaad for Education and Students, Dr. Mahmoud Qura, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, the accountant Jalal Abdel Salam, Secretary General of the University, members of the University Council, a large group of representatives of the House of Representatives and Senate, and faculty members at the Faculty Medicine and university hospitals.
