Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the General Administration of Student Care "Social Activity and Trips Department" organized a trip to visit the landmarks of Luxor and Aswan in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as part of the Know Your Country program organized by the Central Administration for Youth Development at the General Administration of Universities at the Ministry of Youth and Sports at the level of Egyptian universities, during the period from 1/31 to 2/7/2025 under the auspices of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and the supervision of Dr. Nasser Abdel Bary, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed Shaheen, Director General of the General Administration of Student Care.
Dr. Ahmed El-Kased stressed the importance of this program and the national initiative that aims to enhance national belonging and tourism awareness among students from various universities, pointing out that the initiative reflects the Egyptian state's interest in youth, especially university students, as they are the most effective segment within society, and they have a major role in building the new republic, pointing out that the "Know Your Country" program aims to introduce youth to tourist and archaeological landmarks, in addition to investing the free time of youth during the mid-year vacation, as it is an opportunity to get to know each other and exchange experiences between university youth from various governorates, and encourage domestic tourism in addition to working to revive the economic movement in various Egyptian tourist cities, especially in the governorates of Luxor and Aswan. Dr. Nasser Abdel Bari pointed out that the university delegation includes 48 male and female students and a supervisory body representing all the university's faculties, noting that the trip program includes three days to visit the landmarks of Luxor city and includes a visit to Karnak Temple, Luxor Museum, Valley of the Kings, West Bank Temples, Hatshepsut, free tours of Luxor city, and the sound and light show at Karnak Temple. The Aswan program also includes a visit to the High Dam, Aswan Museum, Philae Temples, Banana Island, the Botanical Garden, and the Nubian Village in Aswan. The group is supervised by Mohamed Khattab, Director of the Social Activities Department, and the student delegation is supervised by Yasser Salim, a sports specialist, and Rasha Adel.
