The President of Menoufia University and the Chairman and Managing Director of the Egyptian Company for Drug Trading inaugurated the first-of-its-kind Emergency Pharmacy 24, Menoufia University Branch, to provide medicines, shortages and alternatives

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, and Dr. Abu Al-Fotouh Al-Tawil, Chairman and Managing Director of the Egyptian Company for Drug Trading, in the presence of Dr. Ekramy Gamal, Secretary General of the University, Dr. Mohamed Al-Nomani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, and Dr. Marwa Mahfouz, Advisor to the President of the University for Pharmaceutical Affairs, the Emergency Pharmacy 24, Menoufia University Branch, located in the Medical Complex next to the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology and the Outpatient Clinics Building. It is the first of its kind in Menoufia Governorate, which was established, founded and equipped based on the agreement that was previously signed to establish an Emergency Pharmacy (24) at Menoufia University, to provide medicines to citizens visiting university hospitals and the public and to fill the gap in medicine shortages, as well as to provide the necessary treatment for faculty members. And the university staff.

The university president confirmed that this agreement was made within the framework of his great interest in developing the work system in university hospitals, and activating cooperation with "Esaaf 24" pharmacies due to their vital role in providing essential and deficient medicines around the clock, especially in emergency situations, which comes within the Egyptian government's plan to improve the health care system and provide better medical services to citizens, and interest in modernizing the infrastructure of pharmacies and equipping them with the latest technical means and trained cadres, and providing rare medicines and ensuring the presence of a permanent stock of medicines that patients desperately need, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation between Esaaf 24 pharmacies and university and government hospitals to provide medicines as soon as possible, and the commitment of university hospitals to provide integrated medical services and ensure the citizen's right to obtain medicines safely and quickly, in addition to medical and therapeutic services.

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased pointed out that a place was provided in the medical complex and equipped with all facilities, and the Egyptian Company for Drug Trading provided all the medicines, pharmacists and workers necessary to operate the pharmacy. The pharmacy began providing its services on February 1 as Ambulance 24, which witnessed a great turnout from visitors to university hospitals and residents of the governorate to obtain medicines amid great praise for providing many of the missing medicines or alternatives to them in order to relieve the burden on patients and be an alternative to having to travel to the Cairo Ambulance Pharmacy to obtain narcotic and missing medicines. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Company for Drug Trading expressed his happiness with this fruitful cooperation to serve the people of the governorate and provide medicines to patients visiting university hospitals, the public, faculty members and employees, explaining that the Egyptian Company for Drug Trading is one of the leading companies in the field of distributing medicines and medical supplies in Egypt, and this company works to provide medicines and health products with high quality to cover the needs of the local market through a wide distribution network, stressing that "Esaf 24" pharmacies are part of the Egyptian Company for Drug Trading, and work to provide all types of medicines, including rare medicines, medicines that affect mental health, and narcotics 24 hours a day, all days of the week.

Following the opening, Dr. Ahmed El-Kased and Dr. Abu Al-Fotouh Al-Tawil inspected the pharmacy and followed up on the regularity of work in it.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Salah Hegazy, Dean of Dentistry, Dr. Mohamed Sabry, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Sabry, General Manager of University Hospitals, Dr. Haitham Badr, Director of the Main Hospital and Supervisor of Outpatient Clinics, Dr. Athar Lashin, Director of the Emergency Hospital, and Maher Marcos, General Manager of the Faculty of Medicine. From the Egyptian Company for Drug Trading, the following attended: Dr. Ihab Al-Atbani, Director of the Commercial Sector, Dr. Rahma Taher, Director of the Delta and Alexandria Pharmacies Region, and Dr. Hani Lotfy, General Manager of Contracts at the Company.
