President of Menoufia University Inspects the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at University Hospitals

Within the framework of his commitment to continuous field follow-up and direct assessment of actual performance inside the University hospitals, Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, conducted an inspection tour of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to review workflow and examine the mechanisms for delivering medical services in one of the vital clinical departments.

The University President affirmed that such field visits come as part of the University administration’s approach to enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided to patients and identifying real needs on the ground, thereby ensuring the delivery of safe, comprehensive medical care.

Prof. El-Kased explained that intensive care units represent a cornerstone of the healthcare system, stressing that the University attaches particular importance to their development and modernization, and to supporting them with the necessary human resources and medical equipment in accordance with operational priorities and actual needs. He emphasized that the University spares no effort in supporting the University hospitals and enhancing their operational efficiency, in recognition of their vital role in delivering distinguished medical services alongside their educational and training missions.

The tour was attended by Prof. Mohamed Fahmy El-Nemany, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of University Hospitals; Prof. Mohamed Sabry Ammar, Executive Director of the University Hospitals; Prof. Ahmed Sabry El-Gamal, Dean of the Oncology Institute; and Prof. Ahmed Zareef, Director of Intensive Care Units.

During the visit, the University President inspected the Cardiac ICU, which comprises 13 beds, reviewing operating systems within the unit, procedures for handling critical cases, the availability of medical devices and necessary supplies, as well as the unit’s readiness in terms of the distribution of medical and nursing staff.

Prof. El-Kased reaffirmed the University’s continued support for development and upgrading efforts within intensive care units, and its commitment to improving the working environment for medical teams, in a way that positively reflects on the level of healthcare provided to patients.

For his part, Prof. Mohamed Fahmy El-Nemany stated that periodic follow-up of intensive care units is part of a work plan aimed at raising operational efficiency and ensuring optimal utilization of available resources. He noted that hospital management is keen on identifying the actual needs of each unit and addressing them according to work priorities, while monitoring challenges and working to overcome them within available capabilities.

Prof. Mohamed Sabry Ammar added that operations within the Cardiac ICU are subject to regular administrative and technical follow-up, including reviews of operating systems, the condition of medical equipment, and the availability of supplies. He explained that the executive management exerts continuous efforts to remove any organizational obstacles that may affect workflow, through coordination among the relevant departments, to ensure the provision of safe and consistent medical services.

In the same context, Prof. Ahmed Zareef pointed out that the Cardiac ICU operates at its designated capacity and is staffed by trained medical teams capable of managing critical cases. He confirmed adherence to approved care protocols, quality standards, and patient safety measures, alongside ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of medical staff to achieve the highest possible level of healthcare.
