President of Menoufia University Honors Faculties Winning the Environmental Excellence Competition for the Second Semester and Commends Their Outstanding Efforts

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, honored the faculties that won the Environmental Excellence Competition for the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, in the presence of Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Ghada Ali Hassan, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research. The recognition ceremony was held as part of the University's ongoing efforts to promote a culture of environmental sustainability, encourage faculties to adopt best environmental practices, and foster a university environment that supports sustainable development.

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased emphasized that the competition forms an integral part of the University's strategy to raise environmental awareness, promote the responsible conservation of natural resources, and enhance the aesthetic appearance of its faculties. He noted that environmental sustainability remains one of the University's highest priorities, reflecting its commitment to preparing environmentally conscious generations capable of contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Egypt Vision 2030.

For his part, Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, explained that the Environmental Excellence Competition represents one of the University's key mechanisms for encouraging faculties to improve their environmental performance, enhance the efficiency of services and facilities, and provide a better learning and working environment. He added that the evaluation was conducted according to objective criteria, including campus cleanliness, landscaping and afforestation, waste management, energy and water conservation, as well as environmental and community initiatives. These standards promote healthy competition among faculties and support the University's vision of becoming a sustainable green university.

The final results of the competition in the Established Faculties Category were as follows:

  • The Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, and the National Liver Institute jointly secured first place.
  • The Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Nursing, and Faculty of Education shared second place.
  • The Faculty of Law was awarded third place.

In the New Faculties Category:

  • The Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and the Faculty of Mass Communication jointly won first place.
  • The Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine shared second place.
  • The Faculty of Sports Sciences received third place.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased congratulated the deans, faculty members, administrative staff, and students of the winning faculties, praising their distinguished achievements and outstanding efforts in environmental conservation and enhancing the quality of university life. He reaffirmed the University's continued support for environmental initiatives and activities that contribute to building a more environmentally aware and sustainable university community.
