Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, and Major General Amr El-Ghareeb, Governor of Menoufia, inaugurated the Student Projects Exhibition at the Faculty of Engineering, as part of the university and governorate’s efforts to support young talents, promote innovation and scientific research, and maximize the benefit of student project outcomes in serving the community and supporting development efforts. The event was attended by Prof. Mohamed Zidan, Acting Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Mr. Mohamed Moussa, Deputy Governor; Prof. Mohamed Saafan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; the Faculty’s Vice Deans; the Governorate’s Engineering Consultant; as well as a number of department heads, faculty members, and students.

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased emphasized that Menoufia University places innovation and applied scientific research at the forefront of its priorities and seeks to transform outstanding student ideas and projects into practical applications that contribute to serving the community. He noted that the University is keen to link the educational process with the needs of the state and its development plans, while providing an academic environment that stimulates creativity and entrepreneurship, thereby equipping graduates to compete in the labor market and contribute to the implementation of national projects.

The University President added that this year’s exhibition features 22 student projects across various engineering disciplines, representing outstanding examples of creativity and innovation and addressing real-world development challenges. Among the most notable projects are the design of a 300-bed central general hospital in the East District of Shebin El-Kom; a 300-bed general hospital in Quesna; the Central Market in the West District of Shebin El-Kom; the Central Transportation Terminal serving the East and West Districts of Shebin El-Kom; and the Misr Public Library in Menouf. The exhibition also includes projects for developing the general site of the Faculty of Engineering, designing lecture halls for the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence at the Theoretical Faculties Complex, and designing lecture halls for the Faculty of Agriculture.

The exhibition also featured a number of advanced technological and engineering projects, including a multifunctional computer numerical control (CNC) machine; an advanced intelligent software system for robotics using artificial intelligence; and an intelligent system for bottle filling and packaging using cameras and computer vision technologies. Other projects included path-planning control using reinforcement learning, fire dynamics and smoke control, the ORBIT platform, manufacturing high-quality concrete balancing blocks, assessing and mitigating the risks of flash floods, and 3D printing using geopolymer concrete, in addition to other projects that reflect the outstanding academic level of the Faculty’s students and their ability to develop innovative and applicable engineering solutions.

The University President also expressed his appreciation to the Governor of Menoufia for his continuous commitment to participating in the University’s activities and his ongoing support. He emphasized that cooperation between the University and the Governorate represents a successful model of integrated roles between academic and executive institutions. He further affirmed that the University is ready to utilize its scientific and research expertise and benefit from outstanding projects in supporting development plans and implementing projects that serve the people of the governorate.

For his part, Major General Amr El-Ghareeb, Governor of Menoufia, affirmed that Menoufia University represents a strategic partner for the governorate, given its scientific expertise and distinguished academic capabilities. He highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation with the University and benefiting from applicable research ideas and student projects in implementing service and development projects across various sectors, in a manner that positively contributes to improving citizens’ quality of life.

The event included a welcome address delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, followed by a presentation on the 2026 graduation project of the Department of Architecture, entitled “Innovation in Architectural Education.” The event also featured an overview of the most prominent student projects and engineering and architectural designs aimed at serving the community and keeping pace with development requirements.

At the conclusion of the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering presented the Faculty’s Shield to the Governor of Menoufia and the University President in appreciation of their continued support for the Faculty and the educational process. They then inaugurated the Student Projects Exhibition and toured its various sections, where they listened to detailed explanations from the students about their graduation projects and innovative ideas.

They praised the exhibition for reflecting the students’ distinguished academic level and their ability to develop innovative and applicable engineering solutions that contribute to serving the community and supporting the development process. The event concluded with commemorative photographs with the students and participants.
