Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired the meeting of the University Council, in the presence of Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development and Supervisor of the Education and Student Affairs Sector; the deans of the faculties; and members of the Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, the University President extended his congratulations to H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Egyptian people on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the glorious July 23 Revolution. He affirmed that this enduring national occasion embodies the values of sacrifice, dedication, and patriotism, and remains a source of inspiration for continuing the process of nation-building and development.

The Council also extended its congratulations to Prof. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, on the issuance of a decision by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, assigning him to assume the duties of Acting Minister of Culture in addition to his responsibilities as Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, wishing him continued success in carrying out his duties.

The University President expressed his thanks to Prof. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Prof. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Universities; and the presidents of universities who are members of the Supreme Council of Universities for their confidence and appreciation following the Council’s decision to appoint him to the Board of the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Universities during the Council’s session.

He also extended his congratulations to all members of the University community on the continued enhancement of Menoufia University’s global standing and its advancement by 200 places in the Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, one of the leading international rankings assessing universities’ performance and their contributions to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The University ranked within the 601–800 global band and 17th among Egyptian universities, out of 45 Egyptian universities included in the ranking.

The University President also expressed his appreciation to businessman Hajj Salah Khattab for his donation of state-of-the-art laser and surgical endoscopy equipment to the Urology Department at the University Hospitals, which contributes to enhancing the hospitals’ capabilities and providing advanced medical services in accordance with the latest international medical standards.

During the meeting, Prof. Ahmed El-Kased announced a number of important achievements and decisions reflecting the University’s direction toward expanding specialized projects, maximizing its resources, and strengthening its role in serving the community. He announced the approval of Mr. Jawhar Nabil, Minister of Youth and Sports, for the establishment and official registration of the Menoufia University Sports Club, representing an important step toward supporting sports activities and discovering and nurturing talented students and University staff.

The University President also announced the approval of Prof. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for establishing “Al-Buraq” Company for Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Consulting, fully owned by Menoufia University. He explained that the company comes within the University’s efforts to support innovation and digital transformation and to utilize its scientific and research expertise in modern technology fields. He noted that the University had previously established the Medical Services Company, while procedures for establishing the Educational Services Company are currently being finalized, thereby enhancing the University’s ability to provide specialized services and develop its resources in line with the vision of the Egyptian state.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased further noted that the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development had approved the inclusion of the Menoufia National Technological University Project in Sadat City in the investment plan. He affirmed that work is underway to complete the necessary procedures and obtain the required approvals to commence studies during the upcoming academic year at the University’s temporary premises, in a manner that meets labor market needs and strengthens the modern technological education system.

The University President stressed the need to promptly finalize and announce all examination results for students in all academic years across the various faculties. He also emphasized the importance of following up on preparations for the new academic year and ensuring the readiness of faculties, university cities, and educational facilities in accordance with the highest standards of quality and discipline.

The Council reviewed a report by the University’s Quality Assurance and Continuous Development Center on the status of faculties that have applied for accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education and are awaiting field visits, as well as faculties preparing to apply for accreditation during the coming period. The Council also reviewed the progress achieved in the University’s institutional accreditation file, as part of its ongoing plan to establish a culture of quality and academic excellence.

The meeting also addressed the University’s internationalization efforts and the strengthening of international partnerships. The Council reviewed cooperation between Menoufia National University and the University of Louisville in the United States, as well as students’ participation in international training programs. It emphasized the importance of expanding international cooperation and providing dual-degree programs. The University President directed that this area be given high priority due to its importance in improving the University’s international ranking and enhancing its competitiveness.

The Council also reviewed the University’s efforts in scientific research and innovation and followed up on its participation in Horizon Europe, one of the European Union’s major programs supporting research, development, and innovation. The University President emphasized the importance of encouraging researchers and faculty members to participate in international projects and benefit from available funding opportunities.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased also expressed his satisfaction with the launch of the University’s new electronic portal, which comes as part of the digital transformation plan and the development of electronic services provided to students, faculty members, and staff, contributing to improving service quality and facilitating access to information.

The University Council also approved the disbursement of a performance incentive bonus of EGP 2,000 to administrative staff at the University, in recognition of their efforts and dedication, coinciding with the celebration of the Prophet’s Birthday. The University President affirmed the University’s commitment to supporting its employees and motivating them to continue their work and contributions.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to all members of the Menoufia University community, including university leaders, faculty members, staff, and students, as well as everyone contributing to the University’s successive achievements. He affirmed that these successes are the result of teamwork and dedicated efforts, coinciding with the University’s Golden Jubilee celebrations marking 50 years since its establishment, reflecting its prominent role in education, scientific research, and community service.

During the meeting, Prof. Ahmed El-Kased also reviewed the most prominent events, activities, and achievements witnessed by the University throughout July. These efforts come within the framework of implementing the University’s strategy aimed at strengthening its role as one of the leading educational, research, and service institutions and continuing comprehensive development across all sectors.

He explained that the month witnessed numerous important activities at both the local and international levels, including strengthening cooperation with members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, discussing ways to support the University’s strategic projects and maximize its role in serving the people of Menoufia Governorate, as well as following up on medical and educational expansion projects within the Medical Complex and developing the University’s infrastructure and facilities to keep pace with the growing number of students and the needs of the community.

The University President noted that the past period had witnessed significant attention to quality, accreditation, and institutional development, in addition to strengthening the University’s position at the regional and international levels through supporting internationalization, expanding international partnerships, attracting international students, and activating training and student exchange programs. This was in addition to following up on participation in international initiatives and programs supporting scientific research and innovation.

He emphasized that the University places particular importance on linking the educational process with labor market needs and providing students with practical training opportunities in cooperation with major industrial institutions.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased also reviewed the University’s efforts to support Menoufia National University and expand its facilities and educational programs, as well as follow up on new projects aimed at increasing capacity and improving the quality of services provided to students. He also highlighted efforts to strengthen cooperation with various universities and institutions and develop engineering and consultancy services through the University’s Engineering Research and Consultancy Center.

The University President affirmed that the achievements made during July are the result of teamwork and integration among all sectors of the University. He commended the efforts of the University’s Vice Presidents, deans of the faculties, faculty members, staff, and everyone contributing to the University’s development process.

He noted that these efforts coincide with Menoufia University’s Golden Jubilee celebrations marking 50 years since its establishment, reflecting its scientific and societal standing and its continued role in serving the nation.
