Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, and Major General Amr El-Gharib, Governor of Menoufia, Menoufia University, in cooperation with the Menoufia Governorate, the Decent Life Foundation (Hayah Karima), the Menoufia Directorate of Health Affairs, the Menoufia Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, and the Beshababha Union, organized an integrated medical and awareness convoy in Abnehs Village, affiliated with Quweisna District. The initiative was launched as part of the University's commitment to its community service mission by providing free medical and therapeutic services while promoting health and social awareness among citizens, thereby contributing to improving the quality of life in rural communities.

The convoy was supervised by Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Acting Supervisor of the Education and Student Affairs Sector, with the participation of the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing, in collaboration with the partner organizations to deliver a comprehensive package of free medical and awareness services to the residents of the village.

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased affirmed that the University continues to organize integrated medical and awareness convoys as part of its societal responsibility and national role in supporting presidential initiatives and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He noted that these convoys represent one of the University's most effective mechanisms for extending healthcare and awareness services to citizens in the most underserved villages.

The University President added that the integrated convoys extend beyond providing free medical examinations and medication, encompassing the dissemination of health education, enhancement of community awareness, and promotion of healthy behaviors through educational seminars and awareness activities. These initiatives contribute to disease prevention and early detection, reflecting the University's commitment to building a healthier and more informed society.

He further emphasized that the success of these convoys demonstrates the strength of cooperation between the University, executive authorities, and civil society organizations, reaffirming the University's commitment to organizing additional integrated convoys across villages and districts throughout Menoufia Governorate in support of the State's efforts to provide a Decent Life for all citizens.

For his part, Prof. Sobhy Sharaf explained that the convoy was designed according to a comprehensive vision integrating therapeutic services with awareness programs to maximize benefits for local residents. He stressed the University's commitment to sustaining such initiatives in coordination with its various partners as part of its mission to serve the community and promote environmental development.

The convoy was implemented by a distinguished team of faculty members and physicians from the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing. Free medical consultations and medications were provided in the specialties of pediatrics, chest diseases, dermatology, family medicine, and otorhinolaryngology (ENT), with the necessary medications supplied to all beneficiaries.

The program also included a series of awareness sessions on financial inclusion, highlighting its role in achieving economic empowerment and introducing citizens to formal financial services and methods of accessing them. These activities support the State's efforts to achieve sustainable development, empower women, and create opportunities for small enterprises and entrepreneurship.

In addition, the Faculty of Nursing organized an awareness seminar on the early detection of breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of breast self-examination, mammography screening, and the crucial role of early diagnosis in increasing recovery rates. The seminar also addressed common misconceptions surrounding the disease and encouraged women to undergo regular medical screenings.

The Menoufia Directorate of Health Affairs also provided preventive screening services, including blood pressure and blood glucose measurements, kidney disease screening, and early detection of breast and prostate cancers. These services reflected the comprehensive integration of therapeutic, preventive, and awareness initiatives delivered to the residents of the village.

The convoy further promoted community awareness through the active participation of the Menoufia Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, which organized an educational seminar on protecting drinking water resources, rationalizing water consumption, and raising awareness of the harmful effects of water pollution and excessive water use.

The convoy was carried out under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed El-Noamani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Haitham Meimoun, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Manal Farid, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; Prof. Mohamed Abdel Wahed, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Prof. Shady Allam, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; and Prof. Sanaa Saafan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing.
