Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, held a periodic meeting of the University Facilities Committee in the presence of Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ikrami Gamal, Secretary General of the University, and Dr. Ayman Abdel Hamid, Advisor to the President of the University for Engineering Affairs. At the beginning of the meeting, he reviewed some of the graduation projects of the fourth-year students of the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering, which are related to making designs and proposals for the land that was allocated for the expansion of Menoufia University in Sadat City, which has an area of 200 acres, and which comes within a number of important projects that the university seeks to implement to keep pace with rapid developments in all scientific fields, and in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to develop the higher education system and academic expansion and create a new integrated path for applied and technological education and training, and provide integrated educational and training services of a quality that competes with global quality systems, and work to qualify graduates to meet the needs of the labor market and the requirements of sustainable development plans and Egypt's Vision 2030.
The students presented their projects and proposals for the urban design of the university expansions, which were supervised by Dr. Hossam El-Din Mustafa, Head of the Department of Architecture, Dr. Asmaa El-Shamy, Assistant Professor in the Department, Engineer Younan Nazmy, Lecturer, Engineer Ayman Sami, Assistant Lecturer, and teaching assistants Engineer Youssef El-Maraghi and Engineer Aya Badawy.
The President of the University praised the ideas presented by the students, especially since they include the required design standards and provide proposals for establishing flexible buildings that can be modified according to future needs, educational spaces that support virtual reality technologies, and designing applied research facilities such as workshops and advanced testing laboratories, in addition to the possibility of covering the facades of buildings with solar panels and green spaces around the university campus to enhance environmental sustainability, and designing student housing, sports fields and halls equipped for student activities, directing thanks to all supervisors and students for this honorable effort that reflects the excellence of Menoufia University students, stressing the importance of exploiting the capabilities, talents and abilities of students to serve the university's goals and implement its strategic plan.
The university president stressed the importance of starting to submit a proposal for designing the university's visual identity, which contributes to expressing the university's vision and mission, and achieving distinction and uniqueness for the university's general image, noting that the Department of Architecture supervises the design of the governorate's visual identity due to its distinguished elite of professors specialized in architecture and design.
The university president discussed the agenda and the report submitted on the monthly follow-up of the ongoing works of the facilities assigned to a number of companies, the latest developments in the medical city, Sadat City land, the Oncology Institute, and new projects required to be included in the plan. The university president also reviewed the executive position of maintenance work, the financial position and disbursements so far, and the required extracts.
