Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, reviewed the latest developments in the upgrading of Manshat Sultan University Hospital, as well as the progress of the project to establish a university dormitory for female students of the Technical Institute of Nursing, within the framework of the University’s commitment to supporting the educational process and enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens.
This came during the University President’s reception of Hajj Shaker Hamouda, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ahl El-Kheir Foundation, along with Dr. Emam El-Refaie, Dr. Hany El-Barbary, Professor of Internal Medicine and Head of the Hypertension Treatment Unit and Kidney Diseases and Transplantation at the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Mohamed Nabhan. The meeting discussed avenues of joint cooperation between Menoufia University, Menoufia Governorate, and Ahl El-Kheir Foundation.
Prof. El-Kased emphasized that the meeting falls within the context of ongoing coordination among concerned entities to establish a university dormitory for female students of the Technical Institute of Nursing on an estimated area of 900 square meters, contributing to the provision of safe and suitable accommodation for non-resident students and creating a stable educational and social environment.
The University President explained that the coming period will witness the implementation of land surveying works and the preparation of engineering designs for the project, in preparation for the commencement of construction. He also noted that the Technical Institute of Nursing has already begun its academic activities since last year at its new headquarters in Manshat Sultan village, built on an area of 1,000 square meters, consisting of seven repeated floors, and comprising three lecture halls, ten laboratories, in addition to specialized training halls.
Prof. El-Kased added that the Institute aims to prepare qualified and well-trained nursing cadres in accordance with the latest educational and training systems, equipped with modern devices, equipment, and advanced teaching tools, thereby contributing to meeting the needs of university hospitals and the Liver Institute for trained nursing staff.
The meeting also addressed ways to further develop Manshat Sultan University Hospital, where the University President directed that proposals for expanding the hospital be studied through the annexation of an adjacent plot of land, increasing the number of dental treatment units, and providing a CT scanner, in addition to upgrading the dialysis unit, laboratories, and radiology services, in line with citizens’ needs and in order to enhance the level of medical services provided.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of Menoufia University expressed his appreciation to Hajj Shaker Hamouda and Dr. Emam El-Refaie for their community efforts and continuous support for the educational and health sectors, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation among all stakeholders and healthcare service providers in the Governorate to advance the healthcare system and serve the community.
