Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, witnessed a ceremony honoring the students of Menoufia University who participated in the “Think and Leave Your Mark” project at the El-Arabi Group of Companies. The project aims to involve students in developing solutions and suggestions for some technical problems and developing industries in El-Arabi factories, with the participation of students from the Faculty of Engineering in Shebin El-Kom and the Faculty of Engineering. The celebration was attended by Dr. Abbas Al-Hafnawi, former president of the university, Dr. Sabri Abdel Latif, former vice president of the university, Dr. Ayman Amira, dean of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, Dr. Mohamed Saafan, dean of the Faculty of Engineering in Shebin El-Koum, Dr. Mustafa El-Shibiny, supervisor of College of Engineering projects, and Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim, supervisor of College of Engineering projects. Dr. Ahmed El-Kased welcomed the attendees and the university’s honored students, praising the existing experience and cooperation between the university and the Al-Arabi Group of Companies, which is an essential partner of Menoufia University in the research, educational and training fields.
The University President stressed the importance of integration and cooperation between Egyptian universities, centers, institutes, bodies, industrial sectors and companies, to serve the geographical regions and governorates to which research centers and universities belong, pointing out the importance of each side benefiting from the other and finding sources to finance applied research, to achieve the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. Scientific, to serve Egypt’s vision for sustainable development 2030.
El-Kased also stressed the importance of linking the research product to industry, directing scientific research to serve society, and confronting the challenges facing economic growth, in order to achieve the state’s sustainable development goals (Egypt Vision 2030), explaining the importance of the societal and service role of universities in the fields of industry, agriculture, health, technology localization, and other fields. fields, and their role in supporting industry and transforming research ideas into products with economic returns to society, explaining that applied scientific research is the foundation of industry.
El-Kased pointed out the importance of focusing on manufacturing industries, and moving from the stage of exporting raw materials to the stage of exporting manufactured materials abroad, stressing the importance of continuing applied research to localize the industry, increase the local product, and maximize the benefit from the expertise of Egyptian scientists and researchers.
El-Kased added that Menoufia University is qualified to achieve integration and cooperation with industrial institutions, with its technological, engineering and other faculties. And distinguished students capable of innovation, pointing to the importance of developing marketing plans and research production, linking it to industry and other economic activities, working within a research group, constantly striving to register a patent, and competing among researchers to serve the nation’s goals and development plans.
The students of the Faculty of Engineering in Shebin El-Kom participated in 23 projects with the participation of 85 male and female students. The Faculty of Electronic Engineering also participated in 139 projects with the participation of 227 male and female students from various academic teams. A large number of these projects were also implemented by the Al-Arabi Group of Companies.
