Dr. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired a meeting of the University’s High Committee for Information Technology and Institutional Digital Transformation. The meeting was attended by Vice Presidents Dr. Sobhy Sharaf for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Nasser Abdelbary for Education and Students, Dr. Ghada Hassan for Postgraduate Studies and Research, former Vice President Dr. Hazem Saleh for Postgraduate Studies and Research, University Secretary Dr. Ikrami Gamal, Ms. Souad Bayoumi, Head of the Central Administration Office, and committee members.
Dr. El-Kased emphasized that the meeting reviewed progress in implementing the comprehensive university digitalization plan and developed an integrated IT vision aligned with national e-government strategies, complementing the university’s electronic services across all sectors. He noted that digital transformation is the gateway to the future and that Menoufia University is leading a full-scale technological revolution toward a smart and sustainable society.
He explained that the university has made significant strides in keeping pace with the technological and informational revolution and the transition to the Fifth Industrial Revolution, achieving notable accomplishments across its educational and administrative sectors. The university has a strategic digital transformation plan positioning it as a national center of expertise in this field, while adhering to digital ethics and leveraging technology to enhance education and community services.
Dr. El-Kased praised the new university portal, describing it as a qualitative leap toward a fully digital future. The portal meets international standards in university website design and management, facilitates academic and administrative processes for students and faculty, strengthens internal communication, and provides easy, comprehensive access to knowledge and services.
He also confirmed that the university’s e-learning platform is among the best in Egypt and the Arab world, meeting all modern technical and pedagogical specifications and keeping pace with rapid developments in digital and blended learning.
Regarding cybersecurity, the president stressed the importance of securing university and hospital data centers against physical and cyber threats. He noted that the digital transformation project for university hospitals is part of a national plan to modernize healthcare services in Egypt, upgrading medical services to meet global quality standards.
The committee reviewed a report on data center security, discussed the digital military education platform, and evaluated progress on the new portal project, the university’s international ranking status, and the automation of university hospitals in preparation for full operation at Main, Specialized, Oncology, and Liver Hospitals, as well as progress at Manshiyat Sultan Hospital and the Student Hospital.
The meeting also assessed the current status of electronic testing centers, reviewed achievements of the Documentation and Microfilm Unit under the Statistics, Reports, and E-Publishing Office, approved the minutes of the previous session, and discussed the new agenda.
