Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, attended today an introductory session on the programs offered by Fulbright Egypt, targeting faculty members, teaching assistants, and researchers at the university. The event was organized by the International Relations Office to provide a detailed presentation on the commission and application procedures for master’s and doctoral programs, in addition to a number of research and professional programs across various fields without age or specialization restrictions, for the academic year 2027/2028.

The session was attended by Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of Fulbright Egypt, Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of Menoufia University for Community Service and Environmental Development and Acting Supervisor of the Education and Student Affairs Sector, Dr. Mostafa Shehata, Coordinator of the International Relations Unit at Menoufia University, Dr. Aser Hany, Assistant Program Director at the commission, Dr. Mohamed Adel from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with a large number of deans, vice deans, heads of departments, faculty members, researchers, and students.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Ahmed El-Kased welcomed the members of Fulbright Egypt and the attending deans, vice deans, faculty members, and researchers, affirming the university’s commitment to developing research skills and supporting the scientific research system through organizing introductory meetings with international funding bodies, foremost among them Fulbright Egypt, which serves as the scientific and cultural exchange commission between the Egypt and the United States and has been operating in Egypt for more than 76 years.

He encouraged researchers to apply for the commission’s programs, particularly master’s, doctoral, and joint supervision programs, explaining that these scholarships are fully funded and aim to support master’s and doctoral studies, postdoctoral research, as well as grants in arts, languages, business administration, and faculty development.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased also stressed the university’s continued support for researchers through research qualification, professional training, and English language development, enabling them to apply for international scholarships, while noting that introductory workshops on application mechanisms are being provided to increase researchers’ opportunities—especially teaching assistants—to secure master’s scholarships.

For her part, Dr. Maggie Nassif expressed appreciation for the support provided by the university president, vice presidents, and faculty deans in giving faculty members and researchers the opportunity to apply annually for Fulbright grants, emphasizing that these programs contribute to enhancing research and academic skills and support community development efforts through applying best scientific practices.

She delivered a detailed presentation on application procedures and enrollment in the commission’s various programs for postgraduate students, researchers, professionals, and faculty members through the official website of Fulbright Egypt, which includes a comprehensive overview of available opportunities such as master’s and doctoral programs, research programs, joint supervision, postdoctoral grants, visiting scholar programs, leadership preparation, and professional skills development.

Dr. Aser Hany, Assistant Program Director at the commission, also reviewed application procedures, admission requirements, and key guidelines to increase scholarship opportunities, noting that applications remain open until 31 May 2026 for master’s programs, provided applicants have obtained a Very Good grade in practical disciplines and Good in theoretical disciplines at the bachelor’s level.

He added that applications for postdoctoral research programs and professional fellowships for professors will continue until the end of October 2026, explaining that the scholarships provide full funding covering travel tickets, health insurance, and a monthly living allowance.

During the discussion session, commission representatives emphasized the importance of meeting eligibility criteria, including Egyptian nationality, residence in Egypt, English proficiency, and fulfillment of each program’s admission requirements. They also clarified that study takes place in the United States beginning from the preparatory stage, in addition to specialized programs for English language teachers and leadership and skills development programs scheduled to be announced during April 2026 for the academic year 2026.
