Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, and Major General Amr El-Gharib, Governor of Menoufia, and under the supervision of Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the National Liver Institute, in cooperation with the University's Integrated Convoys Administration, Beshabaha Union, and the Menoufia Directorate of Health Affairs, organized a comprehensive medical convoy in Meet Afeya Village, Shebin El-Kom District. The convoy was implemented as part of the sustainable development initiative "Yes to the Development of Our Village."

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased affirmed that Menoufia University continues to fulfill its community mission by organizing medical and awareness convoys aimed at delivering specialized healthcare services to the most underserved villages. He noted that these convoys support the Presidential Initiatives and the Egyptian state's efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and improve citizens' quality of life.

The University President added that the convoy successfully provided free medical examinations, diagnostic services, and medication to 55 residents of the village. Medical services included the examination of 26 patients in the Internal Medicine Department, 16 patients in the Pediatrics Department, 9 patients in the Radiology Department, and 3 patients in the Surgery Department. In addition, one patient was referred to the National Liver Institute to receive specialized medical care and complete the necessary treatment. He emphasized that these efforts reflect the University's commitment to delivering integrated healthcare services and extending specialized medical care to citizens across Menoufia Governorate.

For his part, Prof. Sobhy Sharaf explained that the convoy presented a comprehensive model of community healthcare by combining medical and therapeutic services with a health awareness seminar addressing common summer diseases caused by food and water contamination, methods of prevention, and food safety practices. Essential medications were also provided free of charge to patients.

The Vice President added that the medicines were supplied through donations from Beshabaha Union and the Decent Life Foundation (Hayah Karima Foundation). The medications were distributed to beneficiaries, while an additional supply was left at the village medical clinic to ensure the continuity of healthcare services for future patients. This initiative helps alleviate the burden on the most vulnerable families while promoting the concept of sustainable healthcare.

The convoy also witnessed the active participation of the Menoufia Directorate of Health Affairs, which implemented several national health initiatives, including early screening programs for lung, colorectal, prostate, and cervical cancers, the Women's Health Initiative, and initiatives for the early detection of chronic diseases and kidney impairment. Blood pressure and blood glucose measurements were also conducted in support of the state's efforts to improve public health and enhance citizens' quality of life.

The convoy was organized through the Integrated Convoys Administration under the supervision of Prof. Osama Hegazy, Dean of the National Liver Institute, Prof. Hany Abdel Meguid Sherim, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, with field follow-up provided by Dr. Ahmed Attia, Executive Director of the Institute Hospital.
