Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired a meeting with the University's Engineering Consultancy Center team to review and discuss the architectural design proposals for a new integrated lecture hall building at Menoufia National University. The meeting was attended by Prof. Nancy Asaad, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Menoufia National University; Prof. Mohamed Saafan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Ibrahim Hashem, Dean of the Engineering Sector at Menoufia National University; and Prof. Essam Helal, Engineering Advisor to the University President.
The proposed designs were prepared by the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering and presented by Prof. Asmaa El-Shamy and Prof. Mina Nazmy. The project forms part of the University's strategic expansion plan to enhance its educational facilities and provide a modern academic environment capable of accommodating the University's steadily increasing student enrollment.
Prof. El-Kased emphasized that Menoufia National University continues to witness growing demand from prospective students year after year, owing to its modern academic programs that meet labor market requirements, the high quality of its educational process, the adoption of advanced teaching methodologies, and its strong emphasis on student activities and practical training. These strengths have contributed to the University's continuous growth in student enrollment.
He noted that this sustained increase necessitates the ongoing expansion of the University's infrastructure through the construction of new academic buildings, lecture halls, and classrooms capable of accommodating future growth while maintaining the quality of education and providing a modern campus environment that promotes learning and innovation.
The University President further affirmed that infrastructure development remains one of the University's highest priorities, alongside the continuous expansion of its academic programs. He stressed that all construction projects are implemented within a strategic framework that addresses both current needs and future expansion plans, thereby strengthening the University's capacity to accommodate more students while delivering a comprehensive educational experience in accordance with the highest academic standards.
During the meeting, the Engineering Consultancy Center team reviewed the architectural proposals submitted by the Department of Architecture, which included several design alternatives for the lecture hall building. The proposed concepts feature modern lecture theaters, instructional spaces, service facilities, safe circulation routes, and designs that incorporate sustainability principles, energy-efficient solutions, and optimal space utilization. The proposals also reflect the architectural identity of Menoufia National University while aligning with the latest international trends in the design of higher education facilities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. El-Kased directed that all proposals be thoroughly evaluated from technical, engineering, and economic perspectives in order to select the most efficient design that best meets the University's current and future requirements. He also called for the preparation of a final conceptual plan as a preliminary step toward initiating the necessary implementation procedures, supporting the University's expansion strategy and further strengthening Menoufia National University's position as a leading academic institution providing high-quality university education in line with the objectives of the New Republic and Egypt Vision 2030.
